A Must Read Article
Last night in our Embracing the Story class, Mark Jalovick read a stirring article that convicted me deeply. It's a quick, yet powerful read serves as an wake-up call for our American, over-consumerized faith and allure us back into the reality of the person and work of God Almighty within "the cruel edges of the world".

I was a reminder to me that Social Justice is not just in our backyard, but all around the world as well. All to often calls for Social Justice ask us to compromise our beliefs as Christians. Standing up for someone like Elizabeth would only strengthen our beliefs.

The article also led my thoughts towards how flipant we are with the Word of God. Here for young Elizabeth the Word was a life-line of hope admist a dark, dark world.
Too often we bend the text to say what we want it to say instead of letting it's words shape and form.
