First Love

"If you love your mission more than you love Jesus, then Jesus will have no part of your mission."

First love for me was probably my dog Mutley... when I was about 3. He was our junkyard dog. Everyone who came to the stock car races up at Northern Lights knew him as Mutley the Snickering Hound. He was an awesome black lab that allowed us to put him in sunglasses, he played pool, but he was like God in the way he loved me unconditionally even when he was ran over and had his back broken, no matter how much pain he was in he still allowed me to climb onto his back and he tried to give me a ride. I don't remember them putting him down, only the one memory of him loving me that one dreary day, the last time he looked at me as if to say I love you child for ever! Soon after he was put down by a deadening sound of a rifle shot and instantly he was in Heaven running and playing with all the other dogs that went to Heaven before him! I thank God for Mutley, as he was to me as Jesus is to all of us. I will always have that memory and someday I really believe I will again be able to sit next to him and tell him how much he meant to me, even tho I was only three years old. I love you Mutley. He was my first experience in unconditional love.... Jesus now fills that space and He is always there... no sounds of death or faces of maybe we will meet again, but the familiar I love you unconditionally is always there....
